Scholarship, Financial Aid for African Americans
There are a number of companies and organizations that have donated monies
for scholarships to African Americans. A great deal of the money is being
returned because of a lack of interest.
Community
Foundation Scholarship Program
At a time when students are more in need
of financial assistance for education than ever, the Community Foundation
for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is now accepting applications for
scholarships on its website, www.yourcommunityfoundation.org/scholarships. The Community Foundation
will award nearly $600,000 in scholarships to deserving high school
graduates of schools in Palm Beach and Martin Counties this year.

The Ron Brown Scholars
Program seeks African Americans high school seniors to receive
$10,000 annually for four years to attend an accredited four-year college or
university in the U.S. Deadlines: November 1, 2008 and January

Chevy Excellence Scholarship Award
Whatever your passion is, Chevy wants to help you pursue it. So, we’re
offering some outstanding students two opportunities at scholarships towards
their first year of college expenses. Applicants must be African-American
students in their senior year a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.

Future Engineers Scholarship Program
One winner will receive a scholarship to be used toward eligible expenses
for tuition, fees, books, and room and board during the 2009 calendar year.
Candidates must be full-time students at the time of application submittal,
pursuing a degree at an accredited institution of higher education in the
United States during the 2008 calendar year, and be accepted into the School
of Engineering.

We’re looking for talented young artists in all disciplines of the
performing, literary, and visual arts. NFAA’s youngARTS program is dedicated
to nurturing and supporting high school senior-aged artists at this critical
point in their professional development.

The Institute offers financial support to nonprofit organizations and
individuals-both U.S. and foreign-including the following: institutions of
post-secondary, community, and secondary education; public and private

Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women
Linda Lael Miller's scholarships are awarded annually to women who are 25
years or older, non-traditional students who have a difficult time finding
scholarships for which they qualify. As in previous years, the scholarship
funds may be used not only for tuition and books, but also for childcare,
transportation and other expenses not covered by traditional scholarships.
